Alex is a father of two boys, a husband, who has lived and worked in Europe, Canada and the US. Alex’s career has included working as a consulting engineer in both Denver, Colorado and Toronto, Ontario for medium to large corporations as well as for himself. At the YMCA of Greater Toronto for the past 10 years, Alex is the SVP of Property Management & Development, responsible for Property Management, Facility Management, Asset Management and Asset Development of over 440 properties across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
While he remains actively involved in helping North America’s largest YMCA become home to the healthiest children, teens and young adults, he remains passionate about seeking ways to waste less, consume less, and support other charities to educate their communities on how we can work together to heal our planet, with a focus on climate resiliency and becoming sustainably green.
Why?
To ensure each child reaches their potential; is offered opportunities to explore and learn; is given hope; is supported; and, their creativity is nurtured and encouraged to bloom so they can offer their gift to give. I want them to experience the things that inspired me and have opportunities to find new ones. I want them to learn and appreciate the outdoors – hike, camp, canoe, kayak, sail, rock climb, and see nature in its pure unadulterated form. I want my kids’ great-grandkids to be able to know a vibrant and diverse forest, to enjoy clean waterways, and to breathe fresh air.
